Originally from Owen Sound, ON, Doug Creighton first discovered ritual dance as a teenager and got hooked. He moved to Western Massachusetts in 1990 after being recruited to work for the accordion and concertina store The Button Box and has lived there ever since.
Doug has played melodeon, concertina, and flute for ritual, clog, and English country dancing for more than 40 years and has been a frequent staff member at Pinewoods as well as other dance camps and events. He is known for his rock-solid tempos, particularly when playing for clog dancing, and has played for many different American and English clog teachers, including Pat Tracey, who, when asked, “How fast would you like it?”, replied, “As fast as you can, dear.”
