Glen Loper

Glen Loper is a foot-stomping, head-shaking, and frequently yelp-belting contra dance mandolin and tenor banjo player from Portland, ME. He started playing music on trumpet and picked up the mandolin in high school. After college, Glen was bit by the dancing bug and started learning fiddle tunes for dances and going to Irish sessions…and the rest is a life of constantly tuning your A strings. In addition to playing dances across the country with Stomp Rocket, Glen teaches private lessons and is staff at Maine Fiddle Camp in June and August. He also runs live sound and is the production manager at the venue One Longfellow Square in Portland, ME.
