Sasha Hsuczyk is a musician and music educator who grew up in Los Angeles and on O’ahu. She studied traditional music playing the fiddle at the University of Limerick in Ireland, and then graduated from Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts with a certificate in ethnomusicology.
Along her travels, she developed a passion for traditional Irish music, Sacred Harp singing, American old-time music, and music from Louisiana. Most recently she has been known for playing in the New Orleans-based Cajun style honkytonk band the Sister Street Aces and as a duo with her partner Mickey Nelligan. She has taught workshops and private lessons across the US and abroad, and at Pinewoods past.
