Embracing traditions of the past, discovering innovations for the future, multi-instrumentalist Casey Murray is presently forging her unique musical path. New England-based, Casey is a graduate of Berklee College of Music holding a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance and a minor in American Roots Music Studies. During her time at Berklee, she worked with esteemed folk and world musicians Natalie Haas, Bruce Molsky, Darol Anger, and Joe K. Walsh, among others. Casey’s musical passions find roots in many diverse styles including Celtic, Old Time, New England contra, folk, classical, and improvisation.

Currently, Casey spends most of her time on the road with Corner House, a Boston-based folk band playing tunes and songs inspired by Celtic and Old Time traditions. She also performs in a duo with fiddler Molly Tucker, playing original and traditional tunes for concerts and contra dances across New England. A thoughtful tunesmith, she often finds creative joy in composing for cello, guitar, banjo, fiddle, and mandolin.

Casey is also a gifted educator. She teaches private lessons and group classes for string instruments using Suzuki, Creative Ability Development, and fiddle pedagogy. She teaches at the Wayland School of Music, has been a guest teacher and faculty member at Kanack School of Musical Artistry Chamber Camps and is currently co-director of the Kanack School of Musical Artistry Fiddle Camp.
