Joe Carter is a musician, dancer, and craftsman from Southwestern Pennsylvania. Musically, he focuses on melodic clawhammer banjo, playing at square dances, old time jams, and festivals, but enjoys branching out into other traditions. When not playing clawhammer banjo, he also dabbles in tenor banjo, guitar, and mandolin. He would love to play tunes with you! (yes, even you.) A 2020 graduate with a BFA in Studio Art, his artistic practice is focused on functional ceramics, but he also has experience in textile, metal, wood, and film photography.
