The wonderful Annie Fain Barralon will do a tutorial for how to make a small accordion fold book with things you already have at your house. This will be a prerecorded video that we will broadcast at the scheduled time. It will be available for you to watch later in the week, too.
Online Dance Callers’ SeminarAugust 10

Led by Scott Higgs, this discussion will focus on program choices and dance choreography. What is it like to call an online dance? How do you find, adapt, or create dances that are particularly fun ? We’re still learning what works—join us to compare notes, share stories, and develop plans to maximize dancers’ enjoyment.
Stuntology! August 11

Sam Bartlett has made a lifelong practice of learning and documenting the do-it-yourself entertainment, he calls ‘Stuntology.’ In these clips he will show you how to steal the shirt off someone’s back, how to pull a cork out of a bottle, and how to drink a glass of water perched on your forehead without using your hands.

Learn beginner blues… from home! Clayton Jennings will introduce blues dance history and do a beginner Jookin’ lesson. Get warmed up for next year.

Three camps in one! CDSS’ Dance, Music & Spice (Camp Cavell), Cascade of Music & Dance (Camp Louise), and American Dance & Music Week (Pinewoods) join forces for an awesome mix of contra and ECD via Zoom. Hosted by Adina GordonGaye Fifer, and many others.
Pinecones Action HourAugust 14
7pm-8:30pm
Come hang out with program director Emily Troll at the virtual Pinecones Bar. Bring a special drink and some snacks. Chat with campers around the country about your experiences with the Black Lives Matter movement. Then, we’ll get to work advocating for BLM using tasks from Emily’s project “Activist Pie.”
American Week Camp GatheringAugust 15

Come enjoy performances by campers and staff, MCed by the great Lisa Greenleaf.
We’ll open the Zoom room at 6:30 for virtual camp “dinner”—come early to socialize; come at 7 for the main event.
